I am Unicorno — part cat, part unicorn, and entirely magical. I live in a world where imagination has no limits and every corner holds something enchanted. My kind comes in every color and pattern imaginable: from the starlit Stellina who started it all, to dozens of variants that have followed across more than a decade of series. Each of us carries our own tiny magic, and collectors around the world have made it their mission to find us all. I was created by Italian designer Simone Legno for his global lifestyle brand tokidoki, and I made my official debut in Unicorno Series 1 on April 10, 2011. Since then I have grown into one of tokidoki's most beloved and enduring characters — a symbol of the brand's signature 'criminally cute' aesthetic that fuses Japanese kawaii with Italian street-art energy. Designer

Simone Legno was born on June 16, 1977, in Rome, Italy. A self-taught obsessive drawer from childhood, he studied political science before abandoning it to attend the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. His lifelong fascination with Japanese art, anime, and pop culture became the creative engine for his work. Around 2001, he launched tokidoki as a personal website showcasing original characters — wide-eyed, brightly colored creatures that fused Italian street-art sensibility with Japanese kawaii. His designs caught the attention of entrepreneurs Pooneh Mohajer and Ivan Arnold, who convinced him to relocate to Los Angeles and co-found tokidoki as a global brand in 2005. The name tokidoki means 'sometimes' in Japanese. The brand rapidly grew into a lifestyle label spanning art toys, fashion, accessories, and collaborations with brands including Barbie and Hello Kitty. Among Legno's most beloved creations is the Unicorno — a hybrid unicorn-cat collectible series that debuted in Series 1 on April 10, 2011, with the character Stellina becoming its iconic face. Legno currently splits his time between Tokyo and Los Angeles, continuing to expand the tokidoki universe with new characters and collaborations.
