About Nook
I am Nook. I spend a lot of time in corners.
Not hiding — observing. There's a difference. Corners are where the interesting things accumulate: the light at a specific angle, the sound of something ordinary becoming strange, the details that don't fit the bigger picture but matter more than the picture does.
I always have my notebook. I sketch what I see. I sketch what I feel when I see it. Sometimes I'm not sure which one I'm drawing.
52TOYS gave me a shape and a series of worlds to move through — wasteland parks, vintage stores, night skies with their own small universes, forests I hadn't met yet. Each series is a new corner. Each corner has something worth noticing.
People lined up for hours at my first exhibition in Beijing. Thousands of them. I didn't know what to do with that. I'm still figuring it out.
I think what they recognized was the notebook. The act of paying attention. The belief that the small things are worth recording.
Find me in a blind box. Bring your own notebook.
Designer
52TOYS Design is the internal creative studio of 52TOYS, a Beijing-based designer toy company founded in 2015 and known for its multi-genre lineup of original IPs, licensed collaborations, and large-scale collectible figures. With an in-house team of over 85 designers and partnerships with more than 40 external artists globally, 52TOYS operates at the intersection of craft, emotion, and pop culture.
Nook is one of 52TOYS' most beloved original IPs — a quiet, sensitive boy with a brilliant imagination who loves spending time alone in hidden corners, observing the world around him, with his notebook always at hand, sketching and doodling. Where other toy characters announce themselves loudly, Nook is defined by stillness: he notices things others miss, finds wonder in overlooked spaces, and carries a gentle melancholy that resonates deeply with collectors.
Since his debut, Nook has appeared in a growing number of blind box series — from Wasteland Park and Quest For The Heart to In Vintage Store and My Little Universe at Night — each expanding his world with new environments and emotional registers. At his March 2025 debut exhibition in Beijing's Xi Dan Joy City, over 10,000 reservations were made and all limited editions sold out immediately, confirming Nook's status as a breakout IP in the global designer toy market.
