Nommi is a designer toy IP created by Chinese-Australian artist Luo Jiujiu in collaboration with HiTOY, launched in mid-2024. Luo Jiujiu (九个玖玖) is a Chinese-born artist and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia, best known as the creative force behind the Nommi designer toy brand. With a formal background in fine art spanning traditional oil painting, illustration, and contemporary character design, Luo developed a distinctive visual language centered on childhood nostalgia, emotional warmth, and soft surrealism. Her work is characterized by pastel tones, dreamy characters, and a deeply therapeutic aesthetic that collectors describe as healing. Before launching the Nommi line, she built a dedicated following through whimsical, emotionally resonant artwork shared online. In mid-2024, Luo collaborated with HiTOY and HiChance to launch the first Nommi series, Loveliness Never Ends, introducing collectors to a cast of animal-themed characters — including TUTU the Bunny, JUJU the Pig, and BINBIN the Bear — each featuring plush bodies, sculpted vinyl faces, and movable eyes that give each figure a uniquely calm and comforting presence.
