About Merodi

I am Merodi. Will — the Taiwanese artist who runs Will Studio — made me from clay and paint and the texture of things made by hand. I was a troublemaker first. I played pranks and pushed at every boundary I could find. Then I got lost in the fields, and something changed: I discovered I could understand the animals. Their languages, their worries, the small emergencies of their days. I stopped causing trouble and started solving it. I am still a little mischievous. I just choose when.

Designer

Will (陳威樺, Will Chen Wei-hua) is a Taiwanese artist who has run Will Studio full-time since 2020, working in handmade clay sculpture and hand-painted colour — a process that gives his figures a tactile, handcrafted quality he considers inseparable from their character. He believes a figure's expression is its most enduring feature, and designs with that principle at the centre. He created Merodi for Pop Mart: a mischievous, lonely girl who discovers she can speak to animals after getting lost in a field, and slowly becomes their protector.
