I am Maymei — and I was born in May, which is how I got my name. My symbol is a needle and thread. Not because I'm delicate — because I mend things. Fabric. Feelings. The little tears that appear in everyday life when no one's looking. I find them, and I fix them, and I move on. TOPTOY gave me a gentle face and soft edges, but don't mistake that for fragility. I've wandered through dark forests, lost myself in forgotten funfairs, studied the stars from corners of the universe you'd never think to look. Each season brings a new series. Each series brings a new version of me. I came into the world in May 2024, and in the time since, I've been carried home by millions of collectors who recognized something of themselves in me. The part that keeps going. The part that stitches things back together when they come apart. I don't make noise about it. I just carry my needle, find the frayed edges, and get to work. Designer

TOPTOY Design is the internal creative studio of TOPTOY (Top Toy), a designer toy brand established in December 2020 under Miniso Group. Based in China, TOPTOY has built a reputation for producing original IP characters with broad emotional appeal, combining global design sensibilities with distinctly Chinese warmth and storytelling. Maymei (美美) is among TOPTOY's most successful original IPs, introduced in May 2024. Within months of launch, Maymei and her companion IP Nommi together surpassed five million units sold, cementing TOPTOY's position as a leading force in China's original IP blind box market. TOPTOY Design approaches character creation with a focus on emotional depth and tactile appeal, producing vinyl plush figures that translate naturally across series themes — from dark forests and forgotten funfairs to stargazing and seasonal celebrations. Maymei's expanding universe spans more than ten series as of 2025, each exploring a new facet of her personality while maintaining the core warmth that defines the IP.
