About Hirono
Hirono is a Pop Mart IP designed by Chinese artist Lang, introduced in 2021. The character is an introspective young boy with oversized eyes and disheveled hair, capturing the full spectrum of human emotions — love, joy, sadness, and longing. Inspired by Lang's personal experiences of isolation when he first moved to Beijing, Hirono has become one of Pop Mart's most emotionally resonant IPs worldwide. Designer: Lang
Lang is a Chinese contemporary artist and co-founder of Pop Mart, specializing in painting, animation, sculpture, and art toys. Born in Luoyang, Henan province, he moved to Beijing in 2010 to pursue his dream of creating designer toys. After presenting his concepts to over 30 companies without success, his college friend and Pop Mart founder Wang Ning invited him to join the team. By 2011, Lang became Pop Mart's Art Director and co-founder. In 2021, he created Hirono — a character inspired by his personal emotions, childhood memories, and his son, capturing the subtle ups and downs of human experience: love, joy, sadness, and longing.
