Cat Mode On had an unfair advantage with me from the start: I have a Maine Coon at home. A lineup of shaggy cat hoods, little paws and long tails was always going to get my attention.

What I love about these nine regular cats and one secret is that POP MART has kept LABUBU's toothy face exposed inside the hood. It still looks like LABUBU playing cat, with all that familiar mischief intact, while the fur patterns and tiny bows give each one its own character.

Maine Coon Kitty: the 209g secret box reference

Maine Coon Kitty has shaggy gray fur, a pale chest and a silver bow, with one blue eye and one darker eye. The longer-looking fur around the face gives the secret a scruffier outline than the cream-and-brown Ragdoll.

The secret-box reference in our notes is 209g, the heaviest in that comparison, with a knock around the cat's right eye on the printed front cover. That eye position is a landmark on the box artwork.

Compare the weight with that cover-side knock: the regular weights are close, and the shared plush shape gives little reliable tactile separation. The desiccant packet is recorded at 4.9g, so 209g should not be read as the bare pendant's weight.

Why this secret feels personal

The detail I love most is the untidy frame of gray fur around the face. Living with a Maine Coon makes me especially drawn to that shaggy outline; the silver bow tidies it up just enough without losing the slightly wild look. This is the design I would want even without a secret label. Calico wins among the regulars for its patchwork coat, but the Maine Coon connects to something already part of my life, which matters more to me than chasing the rarest box.

The nine regular cats

Calico Kitty

Ginger, white and dark-brown patches break up the fluffy suit, with a pale ribbon under the face and a long darker tail. The uneven patches make this my favorite regular: it looks like a particular little cat rather than a costume chosen from a color chart.

Ragdoll Kitty

Blue eyes sit inside a cream-and-brown hood, with dark patches on the limbs and a brown satin bow. The muted contrast gives it a softer expression than Midnight Kitty, especially when displayed beside the pale Persian.

Midnight Kitty

An almost entirely black coat throws the bright red bow and green, star-detailed eyes into focus. That tiny splash of red makes Midnight the cleanest choice for a dark bag, provided the furry outline has a little space around it.

Leopard Kitty

Dark spots run across warm brown fur, while a checked bow adds another small pattern under the grin. The bow is a funny extra: an already busy animal-print coat gets a tiny formal accessory, making this the most deliberately overdressed cat of the regulars.

Persian Kitty

Snowy white fluff and a pale blue ribbon leave the exposed face as the main color accent. The rounded hood does more of the breed-specific work than the face, which keeps LABUBU's sharp grin rather than trying to become a realistic Persian.

Siamese Kitty

A pale belly and hood contrast with dark limbs and ear tips, framing a bright blue-eyed face. The blocks of cream and dark fur read clearly from a distance without the all-over pattern of Calico or Leopard.

Strawberry Kitty

Pink-lilac fur surrounds a white belly, with a pale ribbon keeping the front light rather than adding another strong color. This is clearly a fantasy coat rather than a breed study, and the white center keeps the candy color from swallowing the face.

Cow Kitty

A white muzzle area and belly cut through black fur, finished with a small olive-toned checked bow. Compare it with Midnight: the white center breaks up the dark outline, giving these two black-coated cats quite different expressions.

Matcha Kitty

Yellow-green fluff, an olive ribbon and a tiny blue heart-shaped detail give this cat the least naturalistic palette of the regulars. It supplies a fresh break between the browns and creams, especially as a companion to Strawberry rather than another neutral.

What I would choose

• A single cat: Calico wins for its patchwork coat; Midnight is the sharper alternative for its black fur and red bow. Choose by the face-and-coat combination you actually want to carry, not the secret label.
• The regular lineup: The Complete Set offers Confirmed and Sealed options. Confirmed gives all nine regular cats without the secret; Sealed keeps the opening surprise, with a possible secret rather than a promised tenth design.
• The secret: A confirmed Maine Coon is the direct route to the gray coat and mismatched eyes. The 209g reference is useful for comparison, but the close regular weights would not persuade me to keep buying sealed boxes for this one design.
