Hirono After Dark Plush Doll Pendant Review: Old Dream Secret Field Notes
Pop Mart Hirono After Dark Series Plush Doll Pendant is the rare Hirono drop where the blind-box question starts with the hand feel, not the lineup ranking. The set has six regular plush pendants and the Old Dream secret at 1/72, but Old Dream is not shaped like a normal balanced pendant: the head is large and heavy, the body is flatter and smaller, and the harder inner bag can change how the box feels depending on how the figure is sitting inside.
That makes this a good release for collector field notes. I would not chase it from weight alone, but the combined signal is useful enough to separate a box from the random pile when several clues line up at the same time.
Old Dream secret field notes
Old Dream, also listed in Chinese as 旧梦, is the secret style. Visually it has the strongest disguise idea in the set: a pale bone-white creature hood over a shaggy black body, with Hirono's face tucked inside like a childhood monster costume returning after dark.
Our best reference weight is around 175.7g, with the desiccant noted at about 6.2g. Weight is only the first filter. The better clue is the box behavior: upright, there is about a finger of vertical space, the four sides feel quite full when shaken normally, the front and back feel noticeably bulged, and the left-right direction does not move much.
When the box is turned upside down, the front-back direction can show a slight movement, and the lower half may feel more open. Apart from a vertical top-bottom impact, the other directions should not feel like the figure is freely knocking against the box. The profile I would treat as high-confidence is: large-head stability, hard-bag resistance, front-back fullness, little side travel, and a flatter empty feeling at the lower body when inverted.
This is not a 100% guarantee. Bag stiffness, packing angle, scale tolerance, and nearby regular styles can overlap. But for this specific series, Old Dream's oversized head and small flat body give the box a more distinctive balance than a simple plush weight reading.

What this release is
The official POP MART listing names the release as Hirono After Dark Series Plush Doll Pendant, with an online release on September 3, 2026. Each pendant is listed at approximately 17cm / 6.69 inches without the hanging ring and strap. The material mix is polyester, PVC, and ABS, with polyester fiber stuffing plus POM, plastic beads, and a magnet. In hand, that matters: these are soft pendants with sculpted face parts and costume structure, not small hard-vinyl blind-box figures.
The theme is a late-night disguise room: bat wings, pumpkin shell, rabbit ears, a burlap mask, a white creature hood, and purple shaggy fabric. The common thread is not horror; it is Hirono trying on shapes that let him hide, drift, listen, or look back at the dark without becoming loud.
Regular styles, by buying strength
1. Upside Down
The cleanest single pick. The black fuzzy bat body, purple ears, stitched felt wings, and small orange fringe around the face give it a clear silhouette from across a shelf. The magnet detail also makes the upside-down idea more than just a name.
2. Hollow
The orange pumpkin hood with button eyes and a jagged mouth reads instantly. The printed burlap cape keeps the color from becoming too cute, so Hollow feels playful but still belongs to the darker video-store theme.
3. Runaway
Runaway is the soft-color balance piece: long patchwork rabbit ears, lilac and peach knit panels, stitched whisker detail, and a red neck ruff. The ears give it the widest shape in the regular lineup, which helps if you want one pendant that looks gentle but not plain.
4. Masked
Masked looks rougher and more handmade: a shaggy brown bear suit under a burlap sack mask, with red HIRONO lettering and cutout eye holes. The hidden little-bear idea makes it better in hand than in a flat product thumbnail.
How I would buy it
If you want one confirmed regular style, start with Upside Down or Hollow. Upside Down has the best silhouette, while Hollow has the clearest Halloween object language. Runaway is the softer choice if you prefer plush color and ear shape over dark contrast.
If you are building a full shelf display, the opened whole set makes sense because the six regulars are designed as different night costumes rather than one repeated body with minor color changes. The bat, pumpkin, rabbit, sack mask, white hood, and purple monster each occupy a different shape, so the group reads better than the individual product grid suggests.
If you are chasing Old Dream, do not rely on a single scale reading. Use the combined feel: about 175.7g as a reference, full front-back pressure, little left-right movement, a harder inner bag feel, a top-bottom impact only, and that slightly empty lower-body sensation when inverted. That combination is much more useful than weight by itself.
