About Pino Jelly

Hi — I'm Pino Jelly. I'm soft, I'm sweet, and I'm made of the same stuff as your favorite gummy candy — except I have feelings. A lot of them. My creator, Yumi, gave me a round body, a candy-bright wardrobe, and the emotional range of someone who has experienced everything from sheer joy to complete overwhelm before breakfast. She studied animation at the Communication University of China, and I think she poured all of her love for cartoons and comics directly into me. I arrived in September 2021 with a debut series called Your Boy — just a boy, showing up, ready to exist. Since then I've traveled the world through flavors and food, mapped out twelve of my most complex feelings, taken a personality quiz (the results were not surprising), made wishes, moved through life's seasons, chased a star, gone hard and shiny, and wondered if I might be someone's doll. I am gummy. I am a boy. I am, on most days, doing my best. And I will never stop being sweet.

Designer

Yumi is a Chinese designer and in-house artist at Pop Mart's Pop Design Center (PDC), where she graduated with a degree in animation from the Communication University of China. A self-described fan of cartoons and comics, she is part of the post-1995 generation of Chinese creatives who have shaped a new wave of domestic art toy IP. Her most celebrated creation, Pino Jelly, made its debut in September 2021 with the Your Boy Series, introducing a soft, candy-inspired gummy boy character whose rounded silhouette and vibrant palette immediately resonated with young collectors. Inspired by colorful gummy candies and everyday boyish charm, Yumi designed Pino Jelly to capture a spectrum of human emotions through playful innocence — a design philosophy most vividly realized in the 2022 How Are You Feeling Today Series, which mapped twelve emotional states from fear to naughtiness onto the character's expressive form. Under her direction, Pino Jelly has grown into one of Pop Mart's most consistently active domestic IPs, expanding across thematic collections that explore food, personality, music, and life milestones. Milestones include the global Delicious Worldwide Series in 2022, the star-making Star Project Series in 2024, and the highly anticipated Sweet Like Me Series and I'm Your Doll Blind Box Series in 2025–2026. Yumi's work demonstrates a rare ability to evolve a character's visual world while preserving the warmth and sweetness that define Pino Jelly's enduring appeal.
