I'm Zsiga — and before you ask, yes, those spikes are intentional. I was born free and wild, with thorn-tipped hair that says everything my face doesn't. Not a weapon. A shield. Something I grew so that the world knows I'm here, and that I take up space on purpose. My creator, Dan Wu, found me in the most ordinary moment: watching a tiny cat puff itself up enormous against a bigger one, all bluster and racing heart. That's me. Small and scrappy, performing bravery until it becomes real. I'll scrunch my face at injustice, go wide-eyed at a beautiful thing, flash a toothy grin when I'm winning. I have a lot of feelings and I wear all of them at once. People call that a lot. I call it honest. Since my first adventure in 2021, I've wandered through forests, played with twins, chased slow days, and danced with Care Bears — each series another chapter in a life I'm writing as I go. I don't have a fixed path. I have curiosity, sharp edges, and a soft center I'll only show to the right people. If you collect me, you're collecting the part of yourself that refused to be tamed.

Designer: Dan Wu
Dan Wu, also known by her Chinese name Wu Dandan, is a designer at Pop Mart's internal creative studio PDC (Pop Design Center) and the creator of the Zsiga IP. An observer of everyday life and a keen catcher of emotions, Dan channels personal experience into her character work, using Zsiga as a medium to explore the child deep within herself. Zsiga debuted in 2021 as a rebellious yet innocent girl adorned with thorn-like spikes at the ends of her hair — a detail Dan designed deliberately as a defense mechanism rather than a weapon. The character embodies a tension between cuteness and ferocity that Dan considers central to Zsiga's identity: mischievous expressions including a pout, a toothy grin, and cat-like eyes coexist with an underlying tenderness. The creative spark for Zsiga came from Dan's own cat, Shaomai, who upon encountering a larger cat at a friend's home instantly puffed up and hissed in exaggerated self-defense. That image of small vulnerability performing big bravery became the emotional core of Zsiga. The character, Dan has said, was "born free and wild, ready to question injustice and appreciate beauty." Zsiga has since expanded into multiple blind box series and a dedicated solo exhibition, "I'm Zsiga," which opened in Beijing in 2025.
