I am Experiment 626 — but you can call me Stitch. I was genetically engineered by the mad scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba to be a nearly indestructible force of chaos, built with four arms, super-strength, and the ability to think faster than a supercomputer. But somewhere between the crashing surf of Hawaii and the stubborn kindness of a little girl named Lilo, I found something the lab never planned for: ohana. Family. And ohana means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. I was created by animator Chris Sanders, who had been sketching my design for over fifteen years before my 2002 debut in Disney's animated film Lilo & Stitch. Since then I have appeared in animated series, sequels, specials, and a live-action adaptation — traveling from Hawaii to outer space and back, collecting friends along the way. Beneath the six limbs and the destructive instincts is a creature who just wants to belong. TOYSEZ curates the complete collector guide to Stitch blind box and designer toy series worldwide.

Designer: Chris Sanders

Chris Sanders was born on March 12, 1962 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. He began his career at Marvel Productions as a character designer on Muppet Babies before joining Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he contributed as a storyboard artist and character designer on landmark films including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Mulan. Sanders conceived the character of Stitch approximately fifteen years before the 2002 film Lilo & Stitch — originally describing the design as "just a monster, an amalgam of different creature parts." He co-wrote and co-directed Lilo & Stitch alongside Dean DeBlois, and has voiced Stitch in virtually all Western-language productions of the franchise from 2002 to the present. The film's combination of emotional depth with creature-design innovation made it a defining work of early 2000s animation. After leaving Disney in 2006, Sanders joined DreamWorks Animation and co-directed How to Train Your Dragon (2010) with DeBlois. He returned to the Stitch universe in 2025 to write Lilo & Stitch 2, cementing his legacy as the creator of one of Disney's most beloved and globally recognized characters.
