My Melody

My Melody, a popular character from the Japanese company Sanrio, was created in 1975 by designer Yoko Matsumoto. Originally, Sanrio chose the character after a poll on "The Big Bad Wolf's favorite animal" and the rabbit received the most votes. Inspired by the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood," her original name was "Little Red Riding Hood," but was later changed to "My Melody" the following year.
My Melody is honest, kind, and gentle, with a pure heart and a love for everyone around her. She deeply values her family, especially her mischievous younger brother. While her sometimes carefree nature can lead to her being blunt and indifferent to others' feelings, this also makes her a genuine and endearing character. She is genuinely warm and welcoming to her friends, even towards the often playful Kuromi, whom she always holds in good faith, ultimately becoming close friends.
