I'm KUBO — a buzz-cut city kid with a lot going on beneath the surface. I skate, I code, I guard the beach, I pick up a guitar when the mood hits. People assume I'm aloof. I'm actually just selective. I don't perform enthusiasm I don't feel — but when something genuinely moves me, I go all in. My world keeps changing shape. Every series is a different version of me showing up for a different part of life — and I bring the same energy to all of it. BAO built me in 2022 to carry one idea forward: Own Your Truth. I'm not trying to fit in. I'm not trying to stand out. I'm just being exactly who I am, wherever I am. That's the whole thing.

Designer

BAO is a Shenzhen-based illustrator and art toy designer, and the founder of MEØW Studio, established in 2021. Drawing from the visual language of urban street culture — skateboarding, music, fashion, and youth subcultures — BAO developed a distinctive design sensibility rooted in the belief that personal identity should be worn openly and without apology. In 2022, BAO introduced KUBO: a buzz-cut city kid whose motto, "Own Your Truth," captures the spirit behind the entire character universe. The character quickly resonated with a generation of collectors drawn to its versatility and authentic personality. In August 2023, BAO partnered with Pop Mart to launch the debut blind box series "KUBO Walks of Life," marking the beginning of a formal collaboration that has since grown into one of Pop Mart's most dynamic rising IPs. BAO continues to expand the KUBO universe through a diverse range of series, each reflecting a different facet of urban life and self-expression.
