I was born from my designer Yixiu's own introverted nature — her love of gray, of stillness, of the authentic over the performative. She made me to stand apart from the crowd not in defiance, but in quiet certainty. I find beauty where others walk past. My world is atmospheric and a little melancholic. Lucid dreams blur the border between sleeping and waking. Still rooms hold the echo of something just passed. Forgotten lands remember what the rest of the world has let go. I move through all of these spaces not with urgency, but with the careful attention of someone who believes everything is worth noticing. I am for the introverts. The ones who feel deeply and speak rarely. The ones who find a crowded room exhausting but a rainy afternoon quietly perfect. inosoul is a Pop Mart IP designed by Yixiu of PDC, introduced in April 2024. A quiet, introspective teenager navigating the boundary between dreams and reality, inosoul embodies solitude and authentic self-expression through muted tones and surreal minimalism. Designer: Yixiu
Yixiu (一秀) is a Chinese designer and in-house artist at Pop Mart's Pop Design Center (PDC). Born in 1994, she studied animation at university before working as a freelance graphic designer specializing in 2D illustration. She joined Pop Mart as a full-time designer approximately four years prior to 2024, channeling her introverted sensibility and deep affinity for introspection into character work. Drawing inspiration from natural landscapes — skies, flowers, sunsets, and mist — Yixiu develops work defined by muted tones, minimal forms, and a quietly surreal atmosphere. She gravitates toward the color gray, describing it as a harmonizing element in design that creates a sense of balance and calm. Her design philosophy centers on capturing the authentic inner self: the part of a person that emerges through contact with the external world, shaped by solitude and quiet observation. Her signature creation, inosoul, made its world debut on April 19, 2024 at the Beijing International Trendy Toy Festival, where Yixiu held her first-ever signing event. The name "inosoul" encapsulates her core theme — "in our soul" — representing the truest self hidden within, and the contemplative teenager who finds beauty in stillness rather than noise. The series has expanded through multiple releases including Lucid Dreams (2024), In The Still Room (2025), and The Forgotten Land (2025), establishing Yixiu as an emerging voice in Pop Mart's portfolio of introspective character design.
