About Duckoo
I am Duckoo, and I would really rather be in bed. Do not take this personally — it is just my natural state. I enjoy silk crape, warm rooms, and the particular luxury of doing absolutely nothing for extended periods. I have a frown, yes. It is not because I am unhappy. It is just my face.
That said, I am always looking forward to the next thing. Kitchen adventures, farm days, music festivals, grand hotels, home training sessions I definitely did not ask for — somehow I end up in all of these situations, and somehow it always turns out fine. I was created by South Korean artist Chokocider, who describes the Duckoo concept as 'frowzy at times, but always looking forward to new challenges.' I think that is a generous interpretation of my personality, but I will take it. My series with Pop Mart include Flying, Forest, Kitchen, Farm, Home Training, Winter Land, My Pet Duckoo, Grand Hotel, and Music Festival. TOYSEZ tracks the complete collection.
Designer
Chokocider is a South Korean designer toy artist whose real name has not been publicly disclosed. Playfully self-described as 'a yellow guy with bad English who's a chef by trade but addicted to toys and art,' Chokocider brings a warmly humorous sensibility to character design rooted in the comedy of everyday laziness versus everyday aspiration.
The Duckoo character — a stubbornly frowning yellow duck who enjoys lying around in silk crape pajamas — debuted independently before attracting Pop Mart's attention. The Chokocider × Pop Mart collaboration produced the first widely distributed Duckoo blind box series, catapulting the character into the international collector market. Duckoo's concept is deliberately unheroic: 'frowzy at times, but always looking forward to new challenges.' This tension between comfort-seeking laziness and the charm of new experiences has made the character broadly relatable across cultures. Duckoo has since expanded into numerous Pop Mart series including Flying, Forest, Kitchen, Farm, Home Training, Winter Land, My Pet Duckoo, Grand Hotel, and Music Festival — making Chokocider one of Pop Mart's most prolific collaborating artist IPs.
